Good Friday Service - on the Beach!

This morning before church I stopped at one of the local fruit and vegetable markets - it's such a treat to buy things soooooooooo fresh!



Instead of having our Good Friday service at our church, we opted to have the service at a beach about 10 mins from Dili - and just on the way there, I took this picture of the sun breaking through the morning mist / cloud.....

Then it was onto the beach....here's a pic before things were set up...

Back in Canada or the UK, we don't have the opportunity to have open air services very often (due to the cold and/or rainy weather) so I especially enjoyed this opportunity :-) After the service, we had a 'picnic' which I learned in Timor means to roast a pig and have all the trimmings! Now I am back at home, enjoying air conditioning and trying to soothe my sunburn....
