The best part of my job....

...is visiting the communities where Plan works! Last week I visited an area about 1 hour from Dili, up in the hills. As it is still rainy season, some of the roads were washed out and rough.....



....but fortunately some have also been rebuilt like the one below....

After meeting with dignitaries, we went to visit a school in a community - first priority was to play soccer for a little while...

....and then we spent some time in one of their class rooms, talking about what classes they like in school and about where I am from.....but the children were very shy!

After we went for a walk around the village and chatted with some more children, who were not quite as shy...

I wish I could spend all of my time in the communities :-)
