Christmas Shopping a la Dili

Hello again!

Before I forget - here is that Christmas tree I mentioned in my last posting...



A few days ago, I went shopping for some Christmas gifts in Dili - it was an incredibly hot day and I ended up getting dehydrated so I did not stay out that long - but I did manage to buy a lot of Timorese handicrafts, including several 'tais' which are basically Timorese weaving.

Here are some photos of local women demonstrating how the weaving is done and how the cloth is dyed with natural colors ....

And after re-hydrating, I went for a short walk and saw this amazing sunset ...

What a nice way to end a day of shopping :-)
