Kids are brilliant!

I forgot to mention in my last update that I managed to find an English speaking Protestant church to attend - a friend of a friend from Aceh lived in Dili about 4-5 years ago and attended a church called El Shaddai - which still exists although the location has been moved to one of the suburbs rather than in the centre of the city where it used to be (and near where I live). So I ended up initially going to the wrong location last Sunday - but snapped the following picture of the sun streaming through the trees, so it was worth it to be lost for a little while....

Then this little boy and his sister and I had a conversation in Bahasa Indonesian from which I gathered that the church I was looking for had changed location, and then they explained to my taxi driver how to get to the other church - kids are brilliant!

On my way back from church I went shopping at a local market and could not resist taking a photo of this little girl as she was showing me the pretty necklace that her father had just bought her:

And then finally just before I got back to my house, a bunch of kids were climbing the trees in the school yard across from my house and I caught this kid's pose just before he jumped out of the tree....

Tomorrow I am looking forward to attending the same church and meeting some more people, although as I've said in earlier blogs, everyone seems to know everyone else here so I think it will be easy to get to know people quickly....all for now, time for a DVD or maybe some more news!
